The Catches
- No refunds: Liquid Web’s terms say services are non-cancellable and fees non-refundable, and cancelling early can add termination charges. I found no money-back guarantee on its product pages.
- Extras cost more: autoscaling beyond the included hours and CDN overage are usage-based, and their prices aren’t shown on the plan pages.
- Migration help from a person is Elite-only on WordPress and WooCommerce.
- Uptime figures differ by page (99.9% to 99.9999% on product pages, and 100% network uptime in the SLA policy), so check the SLA for the product you buy.
Liquid Web vs Kinsta, WP Engine and Cloudways
For managed WordPress, Kinsta ($35 a month) and WP Engine ($28 a month on yearly billing) are the closest rivals; Liquid Web’s Pro plan is cheaper to start, with Elite adding longer backups and hands-on migration. Cloudways is cheaper again if you’re happy to size your own server. For smaller sites, SiteGround or Hostinger cost much less in the first term, though SiteGround’s renewal ($17.99 a month) is close to Liquid Web Pro.
