ScalaHosting Black Friday Sale: Real Prices, Dates and Renewal Costs

The ScalaHosting Black Friday sale is live: ScalaHosting says it “runs from October 19 to December 1, 2026, covering Black Friday (November 27) and Cyber Monday (November 30)”. It covers managed cloud only: Entry Cloud from $11.21 a month (72% off) and Managed Cloud Builds #1 to #4 from $22.46 a month (59% off) on a 1-year term, with no coupon to enter. There’s no Black Friday offer on shared hosting, unmanaged VPS or email this year. The catch: those prices are for the first term, and the plans then renew at $39.95 to $244.95 a month.

Below: every sale price and renewal price, why the 3-year term can cost less over three years than the bigger 1-year discount, who qualifies, and how refunds work.

Key takeaways

  • ScalaHosting’s Black Friday sale runs from 19 October to 1 December 2026 and covers Black Friday and Cyber Monday; ScalaHosting gives no time zone for the end.
  • Only Entry Cloud and Managed Cloud Builds #1 to #4 are discounted: from $11.21/mo (Entry Cloud) and $22.46/mo (Build #1) on a 1-year term. No coupon is needed.
  • Renewal prices are much higher: $39.95/mo for Entry Cloud and $54.95 to $244.95/mo for the Builds.
  • If you’ll stay three years, the 3-year deal costs less in total than the 1-year deal plus two renewal years, by $195.12 to $615.12 depending on the plan (ScalaHosting’s own figure, which my calculation confirms).
  • New plans and upgrades qualify; renewals don’t. ScalaHosting’s terms limit its money-back guarantee to new clients.

ScalaHosting’s 2026 Black Friday post and managed cloud plan pages, 3 November 2026, US dollars before tax. ScalaHosting’s plan data lists the 1-month price at the renewal price (for example $54.95/mo on Build #1).

Every build includes “automatic offsite backups and on-demand backup copies”, a dedicated IP address, unmetered bandwidth, unlimited websites, email accounts and databases, and SPanel, ScalaHosting’s own control panel, at no licence cost. cPanel is an optional add-on listed at $32.95 for 5 accounts (the page doesn’t say per what period). Migration is free “with no limit on the number of sites”, and a free .com, .net, .org or .eu domain is included for the first year on terms of a year or more; after that, the domain renews at ScalaHosting’s regular domain price.

1-Year or 3-Year: Which Costs Less?

The headline percentages are for the 1-year term, and that’s where the catch is. On Build #2, for example, the first year costs $404.52, but each renewal year at $96.95 a month costs $1,163.40, almost three times as much. The 3-year deal has a smaller discount but locks the lower price in for longer, and it’s billed up front (ScalaHosting’s own example: “$2,230.20 today versus $404.52 for one year” on Build #2).

Chart comparing three-year cost of ScalaHosting plans: 1-year Black Friday deal plus two renewal years versus the 3-year deal, from Entry Cloud to Build #4
Plan1-year deal + 2 renewal years3-year deal (36 months)3-year saves
Entry Cloud$1,093.32$898.20$195.12
Build #1$1,588.32$1,078.20$510.12
Build #2$2,731.32$2,230.20$501.12
Build #3$4,732.32$4,174.20$558.12
Build #4$6,733.32$6,118.20$615.12
My calculation from ScalaHosting’s listed monthly prices × months, before tax. Hosting only: it leaves out domain renewal after the first year and add-ons such as cPanel, and assumes renewal prices don’t change. ScalaHosting’s own Black Friday post gives the same $195.12 to $615.12 range.

Across the five plans, the renewal price is 2.45 to 3.56 times the 1-year sale price (Build #1 lowest, Entry Cloud highest). Over five years the gap stays the same, because both routes renew at the same standard price in years four and five.

So: if you’re testing ScalaHosting or might move within a year, the 1-year deal is the cheaper entry. If you expect to stay three years, the 3-year deal costs less overall, as long as you’re comfortable paying three years up front. ScalaHosting’s terms say renewals are invoiced “7 (seven) days before its expiration date” at “the current renewal prices announced on the website”, so prices at renewal can change. My hosting renewal prices guide explains this pattern across hosts.

What the Sale Doesn’t Cover

  • Shared and WordPress hosting: ScalaHosting says “No” Black Friday shared hosting deal this year. Its shared plans show standing intro offers instead (Mini $2.95/mo, renewing at $11.95/mo).
  • Unmanaged cloud VPS and email: no Black Friday offer; the unmanaged plans show their usual intro prices.
  • Renewals of existing accounts: “Renewals of existing accounts don’t qualify.”
  • Monthly billing on the Builds: no discount; the plan data lists the monthly price at the renewal price.
  • Re-buying for the same site: ScalaHosting’s terms say you can’t order “a new service of the same type … for the same domain or web content for the purpose of utilizing initial discounts”. If you refuse to renew at the standard price, it can refuse a new package for the same domain or site for 12 months, so cancelling and re-ordering to get the sale price again for the same site can be refused.

If you need a smaller or unmanaged server, compare other providers in my Black Friday VPS hosting deals and best VPS hosting guides; for shared hosting, see my Black Friday web hosting deals. Not sure which type you need? Start with shared vs VPS vs cloud hosting.

Who Qualifies, and How Refunds Work

ScalaHosting’s Black Friday post says the sale applies to “new plans and upgrades”: new customers, existing customers adding a new plan (such as a second managed cloud server), and upgrades. No coupon is needed; “The Black Friday prices already show on the plan pages”. For upgrades, ScalaHosting’s terms say you pay “the proportional price difference” for the rest of your current term, and the higher plan later renews “at the standard price”.

Refunds are where existing customers should read carefully. ScalaHosting’s terms allow “a full refund … within 30 days after the purchase or a partial refund for the unused portion of service at anytime after the service is activated”, but say “The money back guarantee is applicable for new clients only. New orders from existing clients do not qualify.” Other limits:

  • Domains, SSL certificates, dedicated servers and software licences (including an optional cPanel licence) aren’t refundable.
  • A terms-of-service violation “will waive the refund policy”.
  • ScalaHosting’s Black Friday post says its anytime guarantee refunds unused time “including on 3-year terms”, but neither the post nor the terms say how the unused part of a discounted term is worked out (Not verified).
  • If you take the 30-day refund, you pay for the free domain “at its normal price”.
  • A chargeback costs “a one time $20 chargeback fee” on top of the refunded amount.
Coupon codes: ScalaHosting’s pricing pages contain internal promotion IDs for this sale, but they aren’t coupon codes: the discount is already applied on the plan pages. Treat any “ScalaHosting Black Friday coupon” on a third-party site as unverified.

Timeline of ScalaHosting Black Friday sales: 2025 ran 30 October to 1 December, 2026 runs 19 October to 1 December, both covering Black Friday and Cyber Monday

Compared with 2025, the 2026 sale started 11 days earlier and is narrower: last year’s headline discounts also covered shared hosting, unmanaged VPS and email, which aren’t part of this year’s sale.

Should You Buy ScalaHosting on Black Friday?

  • Yes, if you want a managed VPS with a control panel included and free migration; my ScalaHosting review rates it 4.3/5 for sites moving from shared hosting to a managed VPS.
  • Pick the 3-year term if you’re confident you’ll stay; it costs less over three years. If you’re already a ScalaHosting client, the money-back guarantee doesn’t cover your new order, so a 3-year prepayment can’t be refunded under it.
  • Skip it if you only need one small shared site long-term; the managed cloud plans renew much higher than shared hosting.
  • Compare first: my best cloud hosting guide covers other managed and unmanaged options.
