Proton VPN Black Friday Deal: 75% Off VPN Plus ($2.49/mo)

The Proton VPN Black Friday deal for 2026 is live through Proton’s partner links: VPN Plus costs $2.49 a month on a two-year plan (75% off, $59.76 upfront), then renews at $83.88 every 12 months. Proton Unlimited is $6.49 a month for one year ($77.88), renewing at $119.88. Proton calls these “our best prices of the year, available exclusively through our partners”; on 30 October 2026 its public Black Friday page still showed only a countdown, and no end date was given. The button below is my affiliate link to that offer: if you buy through it, I may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

Title card: Proton VPN Black Friday deal, VPN Plus $2.49 a month for 2 years, 75% off, renews at $83.88 a year, checked 30 October 2026

How I checked: on 30 October 2026 I opened Proton’s Black Friday partner offer (through the link in this article), its public Black Friday page, deals page and pricing page in a signed-out browser, and fetched Proton’s terms of service, support pages and 2022 Black Friday blog post directly. Prices are in US dollars as shown to my connection; Proton also lists CHF and EUR, and prices can differ by country. I haven’t bought a Proton VPN Black Friday offer, and this isn’t a speed test. Affiliate disclosure: the buttons and the Editor’s Choice link are affiliate links, so I may earn a commission if you buy, at no extra cost to you. Third-party coupon sites aren’t used as sources.

Key takeaways

  • Proton’s 2026 Black Friday offer is live through partner links: VPN Plus $2.49 a month for 2 years ($59.76), 75% off the $9.99 monthly price.
  • Proton Unlimited (VPN, Mail, Drive, Pass, Calendar) is $6.49 a month for 1 year ($77.88), 50% off.
  • That’s $12 less than Proton’s regular deals page ($71.76) and $24 less than its pricing page ($83.76) for the same two years.
  • After the first term, VPN Plus renews at $83.88 every 12 months, so the third year alone costs more than the first two together.
  • Proton says all new users are eligible (existing users aren’t mentioned); there’s a 30-day full refund on direct purchases, once per user.

Proton VPN Black Friday Deal: The Prices

This is the partner offer my link opened on 30 October 2026:

Proton VPN Black Friday partner offer page on 30 October 2026: VPN Plus 2 years 75% off at $2.49 a month, Proton Unlimited 1 year 50% off at $6.49 a month
Proton’s Black Friday partner offer, 30 October 2026 (signed out, US dollars).
PlanBlack Friday priceYou pay upfrontThen renews at
VPN Plus, 2 years (75% off)$2.49/month$59.76 for 24 months$83.88 every 12 months
Proton Unlimited, 1 year (50% off)$6.49/month$77.88 for 12 months$119.88 every 12 months
Proton VPN Black Friday partner offer (protonvpn.com/l/bf-vpn-offers-2026), 30 October 2026, US dollars.

For comparison, the same day Proton’s regular deals page charged $71.76 for two years of VPN Plus ($2.99 a month) and its pricing page $83.76 ($3.49 a month), so the Black Friday price saves $12 or $24 on the first two years. Proton Unlimited’s Black Friday year ($77.88) compares with $119.88 for a year on the pricing page. Proton says discounts are measured against the regular monthly price ($9.99 for VPN Plus, $12.99 for Unlimited), so “75% off” means 75% off $9.99 a month.

What Proton’s Black Friday Terms Say

The offer page’s FAQ sets three rules:

  • Written for new users. “All new users are eligible for the Proton VPN Black Friday deal on this page.” It doesn’t say whether existing subscribers qualify. In 2022, the main VPN Plus offer was also open to people on Proton Free or a monthly or one-year VPN Plus plan, unless they had downgraded to Free after 1 October 2022.
  • Discounts are measured against the monthly price. “All discounts are calculated based on the regular monthly price.”
  • Renewal is at the standard price. “Your subscription will automatically renew at the standard price every billing cycle unless you choose to cancel.” The offer page puts that at $83.88 a year for VPN Plus and $119.88 for Unlimited.

No start or end date appears on the offer page, and Proton’s public Black Friday page (protonvpn.com/black-friday) still said “The countdown to Black Friday has begun” on 30 October 2026. Black Friday is on 27 November and Cyber Monday on 30 November; the partner price could change or end before or after those dates.

Proton VPN’s Past Black Friday Offers

Proton’s only past Black Friday offer I could still verify on its own site is the 2022 one, from a Proton VPN blog post published on 2 November 2022. The older Black Friday posts (2017 to 2020) now redirect to the 2026 page, and I found no dated official page with the 2023, 2024 or 2025 terms.

YearOfficial offerWhat it cost
2022VPN Plus, 24 months: 50% off plus six months free$119.76 upfront for 30 months (about $3.99 a month)
2022VPN Plus, 12 months: 40% off plus three months free$71.88 upfront for 15 months (about $4.79 a month)
2022Proton Unlimited, 24 months: 40% off$172.56 upfront for 24 months
2023 to 2025Not verifiedThe 2022 post says a 2023 Black Friday deal followed, but I found no official page with its terms
2026VPN Plus, 24 months: 75% off (partner offer)$59.76 upfront for 24 months ($2.49 a month)
Proton VPN blog, “Black Friday 2022 year-end offer” (published 2 November 2022); Proton’s 2026 partner offer page, read 30 October 2026. Monthly figures for 2022 are my calculation.
Timeline of Proton VPN Black Friday offers: 2022 50% off 24-month VPN Plus plus six months free, 2023 to 2025 not verified, 2026 75% off VPN Plus at $2.49 a month through partner links

2026 vs 2022. On the first term, 2026’s $2.49 a month is well below 2022’s about $3.99. But the 2022 VPN deals renewed “at the discounted rate for as long as you keep your subscription active”, while 2026’s renew at the standard $83.88 a year, so the 2022 deal could work out cheaper if you kept it for many years.

Proton loads its prices in the browser, and they can vary by country and currency, so check the total on the checkout page before you pay. VPN Plus covers 10 devices at a time and “20,000+ servers in 140+ countries”; Proton Unlimited adds Proton Mail, Pass, Calendar and Drive (see my Proton Drive review).

What You’ll Pay After the First Term

The first term is where the discount lives. The Black Friday VPN Plus plan costs $59.76 for 24 months (about $29.88 a year), then renews at $83.88 every 12 months, not every 24. That means the renewal year costs about 2.8 times as much as an average year of the first term; on the regular deals page’s two-year plan it’s 2.3 times, and on the Black Friday Proton Unlimited year 1.5 times (my calculations from Proton’s prices).

Chart of Proton VPN cost in the first two years versus the next two: Black Friday VPN Plus $59.76 then $167.76, deals page $71.76 then $167.76, pricing page $83.76 then $167.76, monthly $239.76 both

Even after renewal, VPN Plus at $83.88 a year (about $6.99 a month) costs less than paying $9.99 month by month. Proton’s terms also say that if the renewal price changes, “you will be charged the then-current price valid at the time of the renewal”. To stop a renewal on a plan bought on Proton’s website, Proton’s support page says to sign in at account.protonvpn.com, choose Subscription in the sidebar, select Cancel subscription and confirm it, then pick a reason and click Submit. Proton says the cancellation isn’t final until you complete that last step; you can still use VPN Plus until the plan’s expiration date. App Store and Google Play subscriptions are cancelled in the store. For how Proton’s renewal compares with other VPNs, see my Proton VPN review.

Refunds on a Proton VPN Deal

Proton’s terms (last modified 9 October 2026) say: “You may cancel your subscription within 30 days of the initial purchase and receive a full refund”, and both the cancellation and the refund request must be made within those 30 days. The conditions:

  • “Refunds can only be requested once per user.”
  • Payments made by cash or bank transfer aren’t refundable.
  • It covers purchases made directly from Proton. If you subscribed on Google Play, Proton’s support page says to request the refund from Proton’s support team; App Store purchases are refunded through Apple.
  • After 30 days, the service is non-refundable; any refund or credit is at Proton’s discretion.

The Black Friday offer page shows a “30-day money-back guarantee” on both plans, and Proton’s pricing FAQ offers a money-back guarantee “for all subscriptions” within 30 days.

Coupon codes: Proton hasn’t published any Black Friday coupon code; the discount is applied through the partner offer page itself. Treat a “Proton VPN Black Friday coupon” on a third-party site as unverified unless Proton’s own page shows the same price.

Should You Buy Now or Wait?

  • Want Proton VPN anyway? $2.49 a month for two years is the lowest VPN Plus monthly price I found on Proton’s pages on 30 October 2026. Proton calls this partner offer “our best prices of the year” and gives no end date, so I wouldn’t expect a lower VPN Plus price by waiting, though Proton’s public Black Friday sale wasn’t priced yet on 30 October. You have 30 days to ask for a refund, but only once per user, so don’t plan to buy, refund and buy again.
  • Want the full Proton bundle? Proton Unlimited at $77.88 for the first year adds Mail, Drive (500 GB), Pass and Calendar; it renews at $119.88.
  • Already a Proton subscriber? The offer page mentions only new users and doesn’t say whether existing subscribers qualify; in 2022, Free, monthly and one-year VPN Plus users could get the main offer.
  • Not sure you need to pay? Proton Free costs nothing, has no data limit and needs no card, but it’s one device and servers in 10 countries chosen at random.
  • Comparing VPNs? My best VPN services guide compares four audited VPNs; see also my NordVPN review, Surfshark review and CyberGhost review. Also looking at Private Internet Access? See my PIA Black Friday guide.
Checklist for buying Proton VPN on Black Friday: find the partner offer page for $2.49, compare with $2.99, read the renewal line, check whether existing users qualify, refundable payment method, unverified coupons

The checklist in text: find the partner offer page (Proton says the $2.49 price is “available exclusively through our partners”; it wasn’t on Proton’s public Black Friday page on 30 October); compare it with $2.99 on Proton’s regular deals page; read the renewal line (VPN Plus renews at $83.88 every 12 months); check whether the offer covers existing users; pay by card, PayPal or Bitcoin if you might want a refund; and treat third-party coupon codes as unverified.
